Wendy Newcomb

Wendy Newcomb’s work is an uplifting paen to nature. The way light plays across the end of the day, the arc of a fallen tree, the sudden bend in a river, the sweep of clouds over a field, the sun-baked granite shore–these are the objects of her artistic musing.

Her heightened use of color–drenching blues and greens and golds– and her sharp perspectives on nature’s varying forms come together in a brilliant and soothing way that attacts and holds the eye.

"I feel such joy in nature-in being outdoors," says Newcomb. It is that spiritual connection I feel when I’m in such a place that I aspire to convey in my work. I am most rewarded when I succeed in doing that."
